Amanda Gallagher
General Board
Amanda Gallagher grew up between Ashland and Medford before finding her home in Cave Junction in 2019. Today, she and her husband of 16 years are raising their family on a 20-acre homestead, where she enjoys gardening, raising animals, growing mushrooms, and embracing the many rewards and challenges of rural living.
Amanda serves as the Operations Manager at Farmers Building Supply in Cave Junction, where she has dedicated herself to helping customers, supporting local businesses, and sharing her knowledge with the community. She believes strongly in giving back, and through her work she regularly helps connect donations and resources with local community members and organizations in need. She also serves as a Chairperson on the Illinois Valley Chamber of Commerce Board.
Outside of work, Amanda is always finding another project to take on. She helps fellow homesteaders by butchering livestock for those who may not otherwise be able to afford the service, often accepting a portion of the meat in return. She grows shiitake, oyster, and lion’s mane mushrooms, spends as much time as possible in her garden, and is always happy to share what she has learned with others.
Amanda is also an avid writer and has self-published two books. At the heart of everything she does, however, is her family. A mother of five, she credits her children as one of her greatest motivations to work hard, keep learning, and build a life they can be proud of.
After years of putting down roots in the Illinois Valley, Amanda has come to deeply appreciate the people, resilience, and sense of community that make the area special. She is proud to call Cave Junction home and is passionate about doing her part to help the community—and the people who call it home—thrive.
